Awaken the Dawn

Psalm 57:7-8 says, "My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn."

It doesn't really matter what has gone on before the eyelids close at the end of the day, nor does it matter if the eyelids were open throughout the watch of night. The attitude of our hearts need to be steadfast upon God. No matter what has happened or what might happen, we have developed a determined "steadfast attitude".

Being steadfast on God means that you have resolved to be in a firm place. We have to be determined in our minds to be determined in our hearts. When steadfastness is in your heart, then out of the overflow of your heart praises will flow.

Close your eyes for a moment and just imagine singing a song of praise that wakes up your soul. Imagine how your praise meets and awakens the dawn. How beautiful is that?

Praise awakens our souls. Sometimes we need a little extra nudge to arise from slumber. Praise is the very ingredient that stirs us up and awakens us. It is a vital key to implement the start of a brand new day. Praise is to the soul what coffee is to the metabolism. It says, "Today is the day that the Lord has made! I will rejoice and be glad in it!" It is time to wake up and delight in the Lord!

Awaken the new day with a new song. Yesterday is gone, a new day has sprung and has been ushered in through your praise. Awaken your soul and meet the dawn of a new day filled with your praise. Praise the Lord, O my soul; and all my inmost being! Praise His holy name!
