A Little of This and That

This morning as I sit to write, I am reminded of a funny little "quirk" that my father had. When my father would sit down to eat his plate of food he would begin by placing the fork into the food positioned at 12:00, take a little of that food onto his fork and then moving clockwise would proceed to add each food accordingly until he returned to 12:00. Like I said it was a "quirk"! He loved to savor the taste of blended foods as he chewed each mouthful 26 times (yes he counted them...another little "quirk" ha ha!). So I take my hat off to my earthly father this morning as I bow in great humility that my heavenly father would see it fit to teach a lesson through something that was the brunt of many family jokes!

It is good to take combined bites of God's word that have been set before you. I am a "one food at a time" kind of person. I do not mix - no, no, no! But today as I read the Word of God a few nuggets jumped out and onto my plate. I think God wants to speak something today as I savor the precious bites together. Jer 15:16 says, "When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God Almighty."

I encourage you to take these scriptures and to combine them, ponder them and see what God wants to speak to you through them as well. I am certain they will be a well balanced meal!

Bite #1: Go in and take possession of the land that the Lord swore he would give to your fathers... (Deut)

Bite # 2: "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11)

Bite #3: "Have faith in God" (Mark 11)
