Your Aroma

A little phrase in the book of Numbers caused me to stop and linger this morning. A time to ponder and search the Word and my heart followed.

The catch phrase was, "An aroma pleasing to God". Stop. Close your eyes and think for a moment. Can you think of a pleasing fragrance?

That's what your sacrificed life has become to God. A pleasing aroma.

Romans 12:1 says, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship."

We are living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God. Sacrifices are made on altars. Your life laid down on the altar of your heart is such a fragrant spiritual act of worship to God. What an incredible aroma arises to God in the death of his saints.

Our flesh has so many opportunities to grow throughout the day. That is why we are to die daily. Daily, our commitment to die is so that we recognize that it is Christ who truly lives within us.

We have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer we who live, but he who lives within us. Think about the aroma of being crucified with Christ. Talk about two fragrant offerings being sacrificed at one time.

Let the fragrance of your aroma rise unto God!
